Before
A thickened, yellow-brown nail, often crumbling at the free edge and sometimes lifted from the nail bed.
Two weeks in
Much of the nail plate removed. The exposed nail bed can look raw and uneven — this is expected.
One month
Infected nail fully removed. The bed is smooth and pink, with a thin band of new nail at the cuticle.
Six to twelve months
New nail has grown most or all of the way out. Toenails, particularly the big toe, are the slowest.

Why does my nail look worse at first?
Removing the infected nail exposes the bed underneath, which looks unusual until new nail grows over it.
Will the new nail be normal?
In most cases yes, provided the infection is fully cleared and reinfection is prevented.
