Fungal nail treatment: frequently asked questions
The questions our UK support team is asked most often, answered plainly.
Do I need a prescription?
No. The Canespro set is available to buy without a prescription in the UK. Severe or widespread infection may still need a GP or podiatrist.
Will one set be enough?
One set treats one nail. Buy one set per affected nail.
Can I paint over the nail afterwards?
Wait until the nail bed has healed and new nail has grown in. Ask your pharmacist if unsure.
Is it safe for children?
The leaflet gives age guidance. Always check with a pharmacist before treating a child.
Frequently asked questions
How long does the treatment take?
Most people remove the infected nail within two to four weeks of daily application. The healthy replacement nail then takes three to twelve months to grow out fully, depending on whether it is a fingernail or toenail.
Does it hurt?
No. The ointment softens only the diseased nail, which is then scraped away. If scraping is painful you are working on healthy nail — stop and reapply the next day.
Can I use it on more than one nail?
One set contains enough ointment and plasters to treat a single affected nail. Order an additional set for each further nail.
Is this genuine Canespro?
Yes. We are an independent UK retailer selling genuine, in-date stock supplied through UK channels, shipped in the manufacturer's sealed packaging with the original patient leaflet.
When will my order arrive?
Order before 3pm on a working day and we dispatch the same day. Standard UK delivery arrives in 2–3 working days; next-day delivery is available at checkout.
Do you deliver discreetly?
Every order is sent in plain outer packaging with no product name or medical wording on the outside.
Can I use it if I am diabetic?
Speak to your GP, pharmacist or podiatrist before treating any foot condition at home if you are diabetic or have reduced circulation.
What if it is out of stock?
We hold buffer stock specifically because this product is often unavailable elsewhere. If stock ever runs out, join the restock alert on the product page and you'll be emailed the moment it lands.
